Teaching Children about Christ
Telling children about God does not have to be hard, and God tells us to do it. If He told us to do so, that means they are capable of learning and understanding. Start by asking the Holy Spirit to give you wisdom on how to talk to your child in a way they can understand best for their age. Below are some helpful tips as well !
How Much God Loves Them
You can start with sharing God's love with them. Simple phrases like "God loves you more than anything and anyone" or "God sent His son Jesus, just for you, so that one day , you can be in heaven with Him". Paint them a picture of God's love based on the terms of their understanding and as they get older you can further explain!
How Strong God Is
Tell them about all of the things he can do , examples are. "There is nothing too hard for God" , He even protects you better than mommy and daddy" , "He sent Angels just to watch over you", "He is even stronger than your favorite Super Hero!"
What God Made
God is the creator of the earth! Help them to understand that He is number one and He created life. Give examples and compare them with things they are familiar with. Examples like "Look at how pretty that flower is, God made it"! or "God made you and I also"!
How Special God Is
Share with your child how special God is and how He needs be treated. Explain with examples such as , "Lets be sure to show God we appreciate Him, by doing the things He wants us to do".
